Prof Martin BROWN

Dublin City University

Professor Martin Brown is Associate Dean for Research and Professor of Education at Dublin City University’s Institute of Education, Ireland. An internationally recognised authority on educational evaluation, comparative education and education system reform, his research has informed education policy, system reform and evaluation practice across Europe, the Middle East and beyond. He is Co-Editor-in-Chief of Improving Schools (SAGE), serves as an expert evaluator for the European Commission and the FWO Review College (Belgium) among others and is a member of the Royal Irish Academy’s Social Sciences Committee. A recipient of multiple awards for research, impact and engagement, his forthcoming Palgrave Handbook of Education on the Island of Ireland is the most comprehensive volume published to date exploring the points of convergence and divergence between the education systems of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Prof Ellen GOLDRING

Vanderbilt University

Professor Ellen Goldring, (PhD) is the Patricia and Rodes Hart Professor of Education Leadership and Policy, and Research Dean, Peabody College of Education and Human Development, Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee, USA. Prof Goldring’s research focuses on the intersection of education policy and school improvement with an emphasis on educational leadership and research partnerships nationally and internationally. A fellow of the American Educational Research Association, she is the recipient of the University Council for Educational Administration’s Roald F. Campbell Lifetime Achievement Award. She has co-authored or co-edited nine books and co-authored hundreds of peer-reviewed articles, research and policy reports. In 2025 she was elected to the National Academy of Education and received the Division L, Policy and Politics Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Educational Research Association.

Prof Krista R. MUIS

McGill University

Professor Krista R. Muis is a James McGill Professor in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology at McGill University. She examines self-regulated learning, epistemic cognition, emotions, and emotion regulation, with a focus on how learners evaluate information, regulate learning processes, and achieve conceptual change. She has published extensively in leading educational psychology journals, and is internationally recognized for integrating theory, empirical research, and educational practice. A Fellow of the American Psychological Association and Royal Society of Canada, Professor Muis is the director of the eMUIS Lab and editor of Educational Psychologist. She collaborates with researchers, educators, and policymakers worldwide.

Prof Johnmarshall REEVE

Australian Catholic University

Professor Johnmarshall Reeve is a Professor in the Institute for Positive Psychology and Education, Australian Catholic University (since 2019). He earned his PhD from Texas Christian University (1986) and completed postdoctoral work at the University of Rochester (1990–1992), after holding faculty positions in South Korea and the United States. His research, grounded in self-determination theory, focuses on human motivation and emotion with an emphasis on teachers’ motivating styles, students' agentic engagement, and the neuroscience of intrinsic motivation. He has delivered teacher workshops in 14 countries, published 81 journal articles, authored 29 book chapters and 4 books, and served as Editor-in-Chief of the journal Motivation and Emotion (2011–2017).
